Welcome, my name is Carmen Collier, and I was born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised on the West Coast. I have worked in the Hospitality and Property Management industry my entire life. After moving to the states at a young age, my parents opened a restaurant in Southern California. I spent my early years there, learning how to shop for quality ingredients, prep delicious meals and cook from scratch. My family instilled in me the value of doing a job correctly, and the importance of having an eye for detail. I obtained my Real Estate/Property Management License in 1999. I went on to be a top producer for many years while concurrently owning and operating a successful cleaning business, specializing in custom homes. I have enjoyed life as a full time, professional inn-sitter since 2011 and am constantly rewarded from the challenges that this occupation brings. Whether in the kitchen, taking reservations or listening to a new story, I enjoy every aspect of inn-sitting. Speaking English, and some Spanish and German also helps.
As an inn-sitter, I have learned that each inn or bed & breakfast is unique. The responsibilities and constant day to day challenges are countless. I possess the skills to think on my feet, improvise if necessary, and am an excellent problem solver with an eye for detail. I strive to do my very best to fulfill that "special or unusual" request from each guest. Taking the time to listen is vital to my success as an inn-sitter.
I am a member of the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, Interim Innkeepers Network and numerous innkeeping groups and forums throughout the world. Receiving good reviews and references are extremely important to me and earning them is my number one priority. I have traveled to over 22 countries, and throughout the US. I now make St. Petersburg, Florida my home, but I am open to traveling anywhere in the world.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
~Carmen~
